Love the battlecomp so far. I've only been shooting for a little while but it has dramatically decreased my groups and time between shots.

Plus I love the cross it makes after shooting :P

I just ordered a BABC for my newly acquired RFB. I've been using PWS units on my other rifles and am interested to see how this compares.

Externally, the BC1.5 has a stand-off hood to increase its length, primarily for those folks with 14.5" bbls who need to get to 16.1" bbl OAL for legal reasons.

The BC1.5 comes pre-drilled to aid with pinning and welding as is often required for those 14.5 bbls, as well.

On an 18" bbl, the BC1.0 should be quite acceptable. That is not to say the BC1.5 won't work with different barrel lengths -- it's just the BC1.5 was designed specifically with the 14.5" bbl in mind.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,

Will be using the 1.5 on a 18" bbl since I have to perm a comp/brake onto any length bbl that is threaded

The V1.5 will make it a bit easier being pre-drilled. Then its up to my friend welding it, or me sending it out to ADCO.

My friend is a master welder building race car chasis, but I am having some second thoughts having him weld a muzzle device. What is the story of a muzzle/barrel device warping from the welding heat?

Im scared to death to ruin a $465 bbl and a $150 comp lol

If memory serves me correctly, the pinning can also be done through high temp silver soldering which is a lower temp process. The comp is 303 stainless and can take quite a bit of heat without issue. Your barrel will see very little, if any, of the heat as the welding should just place a "cap" over the pin so the barrel sees no direct heat. If your welder is good he can localize the heat affected zone to mitigate any potential damage to either the comp or barrel.
