Well, I have had my BC 1.0 since the first week of July. Building a new 16" BCM BFH / Spikes middy combo, I finally mounted the BC 2 weeks ago, after having run my new rig with the standard A2 FH.

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to run my new BC equipped middy. I went to 2 local outdoor ranges. One of the said had a 40 yard tin can range.

The BC's performance nearly brought tears to my eyes. At the age of 51 and having been shooting for the past some 30 plus years, I didn't think that my shooting experience(s) could get any better.

For those, whom are concerned/curious with regard to the BC's effect on accuracy, at 50 yards, I was able to maintain 1/2" to 3/4" groupings from the bench. I used 2" Casey Birchwood targets and 1-1/2" red self adhering targets. While standing, kneeling, sitting off bench, using 3" CB targets, all shots landed within the target. While these results may not be seem decent for some, I am quite please. An EOT XPS2-0 w/3x mag was used.

Moving along over to the 40 yard tin can range, the 3x mag was flipped to the side. Using the normal 12oz. (?) water bottles, I was able to consistently move from water bottle to water bottle very quickly, shot after shot. After some 400 rounds with the BC, all that I can say is, "Thank you." to the good folks at BCE for affording me a new and better shooting experience.

ETA: Ammo used was PMC Bronze 55gr. FMJ

    BattleComp Torture Testing

Preliminary reports back from SOCOM are very positive. The BattleComp performed as advertised and the torture testing continues. When the round count gets to about 15,000 through the BC we will get an update. So far, we are holding up just fine under the rigors of a Spec Ops beating! Stay tuned.

I apologize if this has already been answered, but is the BC 1.0 compatible with the Gemtech HALO?

I will once again echo this, especially if somehow the BC 1.5 could be made to work with an NT4. That would be the cat's meow.

Technically, no. The BC 1.0 doesn't have the ridges fore and aft that are present on the A2 FH, so it is undersized by just a bit. BCE is working hard on a HALO-compatible model. I believe it is next on their list, now that the BC 1.5 is so close to production.

Got it, did some digging and found the official statement on page 4. Thanks for the reply!

With the BC 1.5 nearing completion that might change my plans for my next build. I was going to go 16" LW Middy but now it might be 14.5 " LW Middy. Dang this site!

    Size Matters?

Hey, pretty new to the AR thing and the BC is going to be on the rifle I am currently building. What is the advantage of the 1.5 over the 1.0?
I am thinking of an 18" barrel at this point. Thanks for your thoughts! Kent

Internally, there isn't a difference. The two versions have the same dimensions for the expansion chamber and number of vents.

Externally, the BC1.5 has a stand-off hood to increase its length, primarily for those folks with 14.5" bbls who need to get to 16.1" bbl OAL for legal reasons.

The BC1.5 comes pre-drilled to aid with pinning and welding as is often required for those 14.5 bbls, as well.

On an 18" bbl, the BC1.0 should be quite acceptable. That is not to say the BC1.5 won't work with different barrel lengths -- it's just the BC1.5 was designed specifically with the 14.5" bbl in mind.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,
    Alan
