I'm interested here too (even though it's sort of established the BC is designed to fill a tactical role over competitive considerations). Do you give up a lot in terms of muzzle jump/torque over a pure compensator?

Got mine installed on my 16" middy Friday, made a huge difference in the feel of my rifle. Whereas before I found myself hesitating for a split second to get my reticle back on target for the follow-up shot, after installing the brake I ripped through an entire 30 round mag before I realized it. It made an already smooth rifle 2x smoother with zero muzzle rise.

I'm so impressed that I have another coming for my scoped rifle.

As far as noise, I was running a YH Phantom FS before and I really couldn't tell any difference with the brake installed (with hearing protection on).

One thing I did notice while installing it is that it felt like it was wanting to cross thread (or wrong thread pitch, etc) from the second I started threading it on, so I backed it off twice to make sure everything was OK and the threads in the brake and on the barrel looked absolutely perfect. It was definitely a tight fit for some reason, had to use a wrench from the first turn. For reference - the upper is a new 16" BCM LW Mid length. I'll see if I experience the same thing when I install the other brake on my carbine in a couple days.

01tundra: We've seen a few barrels come through with out of spec threads. Not that uncommon. In a few cases we've run a die over them to correct the discrepancies and had no problem mounting the comp afterwards. We recommend having a qualified gunsmith do this should it be necessary for your particular barrel. We CNC thread our comps to mil-spec for consistency and accuracy and occasionally run into barrel threads that run tight due to their manufacturers tolerance spread. If you run into a tight fit again please let us know so that we can properly address this and take care of you. Glad that you had good results with your comp!

got mines today too, and i also had a very snug fit. threads were cut by ADCO, who really pride themselves on very well done threads. i'm not saying there's any issue here- i'd rather them be tight than loose. especially since i had to shim the crush washer, which reduces thread contact.

and the threads being so tight, i could barely thread it on and off by hand, so i used a wrench.. and since i had to shim it, i had to thread it off and on several times to time it right, which put some wear on the flats. i could have avoided that a number of ways, but i don't give a flyin F either way, so i went with it. but if you care, make sure you dont use your wrench to spin it on and off, or you'll get shiners.

i repent that i have to head into portland this afternoon and drop some shit off, or i'd go blast right this minute. i'm exited. thanks for the super-fast ship and great CS.

It's hard to say in our comparison since we were shooting two different gas systems. I'd say the BattleComp is on par with the PWS as far as muzzle rise reduction, but none of the horrible side blast and loudness.

There's NO WAY I'd opt for the PWS over the BattleComp. Not even close. The only downside is the price.

I'm anxiously awaiting one that's headed my way. Currently running a PWS also, and really liked the control at 25 yds (15 round dump immediately after siting in with the first half of the mag).

Since the Battlecomp is supposed to be better, I hope to keep them all in a tight little ball vs walking up. The reduced blast to the sides will be a huge plus for my guys in urban and rural environments!!!

I have a Troy Claymore muzzle brake and with it there is very noticeable increase in felt recoil and muzzle rise. I like how the blast is directed forward with no dust or dirt flying around when in prone or urban prone but the muzzle rise is starting to annoy me.

I am seriously looking into the Battle Comp. muzzle brake now but want to do a couple of more carbine courses before I make the switch.
