I have a BABC installed on my .308 AR upper and I'm very impressed with the overall balance between muzzle control, recoil reduction and moving the muzzle blast away from the shooter and those next to him. I will be using more of these in the future. No doubt about it.
I was able to buy a blem BC 1.0 from Rainier Arms this week. They only had about 5 when I called to order. If anyone wants a BC for a good price, call them and ask if they have any blems left!
I was just there yesterday and didn't see any otherwise I would have picked one up.
So do I understand correctly that in terms of felt recoil and other shooting characteristics, the 1.0 and 2.0 are identical?
The versions 1.0 , 1.5 and 2.0 have identical internal architecture. The detail differences are all external and have no impact on performance.

I want to get one of the BC's and would like to install it myself. Can somebody point me to a basic "BC Installation for Dummies" or "The Idiot's Guide to Installing a BC"
Thanks!
It's pretty basic if you have the tools, from the looks of it. It doesn't differ much from installing any other flashhider/muzzlebrake that needs to be clocked. (in that respect it doesn't differ at all from the A2 hider)
You need the proper tools (armorers wrench preferably), barrel viceblocks or brownells receiver block with insert and a little time.
Remove the brake/hider sitting on the barrel, install the new crush washer and screw on the comp. Turn it until it's snug by hand. Use the wrench to further turn the comp on the threads untill the middle comp openings line up the with 12 o clock position on the barrel (the BCE logo on the bottom will go on the 6 o clock for easy reference )
That's it, good to go....
The whole procedure of removing and installing a flashhider / muzzlebrake is also described quite clear at brownells.com
Good luck
