My first AR came home today - LE6940

    Newbie here.

Here is my new tool 15 minutes after cutting the tape today, completely stock and unmolested... so far. I'm really looking forward to getting it dirty and building it up a little.

This is my first AR, unless you count my USMC years. The XDm is for the guys over at xdtalk.

Great way to start. I hope to have my 6940 in a couple weeks.

Shoot it first then start working on it, upgrading it into what you want.

Congrats on the new rifle. What size are the Fire control group pins? .154 or .170? What kind of optic do you plan on putting on there?

Thanks Kimbo. .154 pins and not sure yet on optics, still have a lot of research to do on them. Aimpoint & EOTech are the current front runners.

Hey I just took a closer look at the photo. Does the rifle come with rail covers? I could swear I see a set of ladder style covers in the accessory bag.

Yes, it comes with 3 full-length ladder rail covers.

    Thanks for the compliments guys.

    Exclamation

I'm sure it looks great, BUT... I'm getting the red 'X' of death when I look at it.

    Thumbs up

I did try that initially, with no success. It's coming up now, a few minutes later. I think that your photo site was down briefly.

Now that I CAN see it, it DOES look sharp! Any initial plans for optics/lights, etc.?
