How much does a used Colt with a 16" HBAR barrel go for?

Bunch of us just grabbed a bunch of Tactical A3s (6721) for $699 a little over a month ago from AIM. Get on their mailing list and have money ready to go, when they get them...they go fast. Just be aware that 6721s are a 1:9 twist if that matters to you.

Also when you say HBAR, do you mean under the handguards as well? Or just full barrel profile w/o the M4 cut?

Yes, the thicker barrel under the handguards. If the full barrel profile with out the M4 cut is thinner under the handguards than near the muzzle, I don't like those.

If Colt doesn't want to make a HBAR AR, they should offer one where the barrel is the same thickness throughout.

I would have grabbed a 6721 if I knew they were available.

I'd choose a Colt barrel with 4150 steel, a properly sized gas port, and well executed chrome lining, with a stupid M4 profile, that's been assembled properly over a medium or heavy profile S&W, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Sig Sauer, etc every single time, without hesitation.

...OP also cited "durability and accuracy" and he won't get that for $700 any more than he will get a dependable carry gun for $100. The 6920 is hardly the best or most expensive AR on the market, but I think it is the minimum standard for anyone who wants a rifle for anything serious.

They did, it was a limited run and most people hated them. The M4 was already a tad front heavy. But they are no longer in production and prices would hardly be favorable for you.

I didn't fully grasp that you were looking for a full Hbar profile in your original post, I think a lot of other people missed that as well.

Not in my opinion. But if a Colt 6721 would meet your needs, they probably will come up again over at Aim, I'd recommend their notification list.

Accuracy, including after a number of rounds have been fired through it.
