Rock River Arms makes a much more accurate A2 for about that $ .

We already gave them all to the Taliban.

Buy a A4 Colt or FN instead. Those two will always hold their value. Springfield will not.

Aside from their custom shop 1911s, I wouldn't buy anything from these jack offs.

This recollection stings. Why did they do that? Wouldn't it have been easy to bring them back and put them in storage?

Umm, I believe that all the M16A2's/A4's in question were transferred to Afghanistan as foreign aid. Then the country collapsed/we bugged out. And the Taliban inherited everything.

I thought all their 1911s made in the past several years were good.

Doesn't Springfield make a bolt action? Is it bad?

The Springfield 1911 I bought in 2018 has been solid, no complaints. The M1A I purchased in 2022 has likewise been great; reliable and put food on the table. Markm thinks everything is trash, so take his complaints with a grain of salt.
It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.

Springfield Armory in IL is not Springfield Armory in Mass. Springfield Armory in IL simply bought the name when the actual armory closed down in 1968.

Springfield in IL does make some decent high end 1911s but for the money I'd rather go Les Baer or Wilson Combat. They are more known for the budget 1911s that aren't as impressive.
