Minimum hit count is as follows:

61 rifle
47 pistol

There will be SEVERAL places where having more ammo than that may benefit you, depending on how you choose to shoot different situations. And conditions will be tough, making you very likely to miss. I'm bringing double that count, and highly suggest you bring at least that too.
