Yep, we evac'd from Hurricane Irma and it took 13 hours to go from Pompano Beach to Ocala, almost ran out of gas a few times due to traffic becoming a parking lot for hours. I knew I didn't want to ride out a record breaking potential Cat 5 but driving away from your problems has many of it's own problems. There were people who didn't get the same head start that I did that ended up sheltering in their vehicle on the turnpike when the storm made land fall. Gas lines were incredible. The whole state decided to evacuate and hotels were sold out all the way to mid GA and AL.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.
