Grizz, my gun is an HMR, not a bad trigger if you don't run better ones on side by side guns.

That’s exactly why I haven’t directly compared the HMR to a Timney before….I’d probably end up upgrading the HMRs.
I haven’t measured it since it was new, and it doesn’t seem to have lightened up much, if any. I’ll measure it within the next couple days. I think it was around 4 lbs when new, but that’s not much more than my Timneys.

I just compared the stock HMR to an 8 year old Timney 510 and a 20+ year old stock (with pull weight set to a little under 4 lbs) Rem 700 . The stock HMR definitely leaves a lot to be desired from a weight consistency perspective. The old stock 700 trigger is still shockingly good, and a bit better than my other stock 700 trigger (unknown age).
I didn't realize how much overtravel the HMR has until I went from it straight to the Timney.
Once I start shooting bolt guns regularly again, the HMR's trigger will end up in my box of parts.
I've never heard a bad comment on TriggerTech's offerings, so I'll probably try a Special.
