    .300 BLK gel test: Remington 120 gr OTFB

    Remington 120 gr OTFB (open tip, flat base) fired from 8" AR15.com upper into calibrated 10% gelatin.

    BB: 589.5 fps, 3.6"

    Impact velocity: 1,941
    Neck: 3.7"
    Base of jacket penetration: 13.4"
    Core penetration: 14" of gelatin plus 12" of water.
    Front jacket: 21.9gr
    Rear jacket: 13.1gr
    Core: 79.6gr

    Thanks for testing that loading. It's sub 1 inch at 100 yards from my 16" carbine and I've wondered about it's terminal ballistics.

    Thanks for sharing. Anyone else have achieved good accuracy results with this ammo? I've basically passed it over trying to find a plinking and training round. Hoping it would hold about 2 MOA at 100 yards.

    I used it to get a rough 25 meter zero with a 9" BCM upper on a CMT PDW stock. Using an Aimpoint T1, I was shooting a ragged hole with 5 rounds. I've only taken it out to 50 meters with this ammo, but recall being impressed.

    is it just me, or does this round do incredible damage? seems a bigger bullet does go deeper and cause more damage in the 223 casing.

    It's okay, but the neck is a little longer than I'd prefer and I'd like to see more fragmentation or some expansion.
