That red lockite is crazy, you gotta burn that crap off.

I can't much tell the difference between red, blue and purple Loctite to tell the truth. The issue with using it on a castle nut is you have a big, big thread with a lot of area. If I had to remove a castle nut Loctited on, I would not use a torch, I would use a heat gun. Heat it 'till it smokes that way you know for certain it is hot enough. Same with epoxy. Be advised, the smoke is acrid.
