    Carbine Hand Guard

I have an M&P Sport. I hate the hand guard. I could just go with an MOE. But I really would like something longer. I see Troy and a couple other companies that have good ones. But I would rather save my pennies for a better rifle.

I would like to find something that can go on a carbine with an FSB and is similar to an MOE in a longer length.

For the most part I believe you have 3 basic options for companies to look at. Daniel defense, troy, and centurian arms. Other options that might appeal is to shave down your front sight post, and go with pretty much any longer hand guard you desire. From there add a fixed front sight such as LMT (lewis machine and tool) or DD (Daniel defense) offers. Or any number of folding sight options. If the cost of the MOE is what appeals to you, you wont find many options of comparable quality and cost to the MOE carbine length.

Another option, might be to go with and MOE and add a tri rail section to the front sight post, forget who makes it though.

Don't know how much you have shot your sport. But maybe put a few more rounds down range and see if you can make it work aswell. Any particular reason you want to change to a railed handguard?

I think what you're asking for will run you minimum ~$200 and some work (shaving FSB). More if you want to keep the FSB. I'd leave the Sport alone and would rather put that toward a new rifle as well.

You are better off selling it rather than wasting money on a rail. Or you can get a BCM upper and drop onto your lower and then add the rail.

Thanks folks. I guess I save my pennies for the BCM or Noveske uppers I lust after. Though I will shoot the M&P a bunch more to make sure I am buying the right new gun.
