SLR-106 black gen II circle 10 mag issues?

I have a gen II black circle 10 magazine that is double feeding with a BD SLR-106. The feed ramp appears to be ok. In each instance, a live round ends up partially in the chamber and a second round ends up with its nose jammed into the feed ramp and its tail caught by the bcg.
The magazine does not appear to be damaged and the lips appear to be in good condition.

Is this a known issue with these mags, and if so are there any aftermarket followers or other fixes?

Are they the M-47W2US from Kvar?

I was talked out of those when I made my purchase. I have the M-47W which is the 1st gen I believe and they work well in my SGL21-94. I think the floor plates are different. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find out.

OP, do have any other magazines? From your post it sounds like you are having this issue with only one magazine.

At the moment I have 2 mags for this rifle. I have not yet experienced any failures with the other one, but the sample size is still relatively small. I'm thinking about ordering a few more mags and seeing what happens. This wreaks of a mag issue to me; I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and if there was a fix. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised as I thought the gen 2 circle 10 5.56 mags were considered 'good to go'.

    UPDATE:

Today I took the gun out again with two factory new circle 10 magazines, and I still cannot make it through a magazine without the same problem.

Every time this happens, the bolt fails to close all the way. There is an intact round in the chamber being pushed forward by the bolt. Underneath, another round is being stripped by the bottom of the carrier and jammed into the space under the feed ramp. This is what stops the motion of the carrier and prevents the first round from moving all the way into position in the chamber; the second round is caught between the under side of the carrier and the metal underneath the feed ramp and holding the bolt back.

When the jam is cleared, the round that was in the chamber is found intact and the round underneath that was holding the carrier back has the bullet driven back into the case.

I suspect that the magazines are riding too high, but I'm not sure what to do about it. My next experiment might be to try some underloaded 5.45 magazines or the original 10 round .223 magazine that came with the gun.

    Any thought?

Yeah, your rifle should be covered under warranty. Send it back and let them figure it out and fix it.

Perform a search in this sub-forum for SLR-106 issues. The 5.56 AKs have been known to be problematic in comparison to their 7.62 and 5.45 kin.

And as Steyr mentioned, contact Arsenal.

Sounds like the receiver has the wrong dimensions or was assembled incorrectly. Either the bolt is too low or the mag is riding too high.

Either way, the correct fix is going to involve a complete rebuild of the receiver or replacement.

Get a RMA and send it back. It ain't a home build and Arsenal will fix it.

By the way, did yours come with a test target?

This is what I was thinking, too... mag too high, bolt reaching down too far into it.

But why with only one mag?

Maybe swap the innards of the mags and see if anything different happens... It is about the only method you have to troubleshoot it on your own...
