Question re Hornady .308 110 gr TAP & 7.62 SBRs
For LE purposes, with the possibility of other officers entering a structure from multiple points, will the 110 gr TAP still be the best bet to avoid over penetration with something like a SCAR 17 CQC or HK 417 Shorty? I'm curious how much the reduced muzzle velocity will effect how this bullet behaves in soft tissue. Will it still fragment like in Doc's pictures or will it act more like the 155 gr AMAX? I am testing various loads but at this point the 155 gr TAP is my go to load. I just thought about keeping a mag of 110 onhand just incase.
I realize it is not something that has probably been ironed out or tested much, just looking for educated speculation from the guys in the know of such things.
