The next Washington shoot
I am going to reserve the Central Whidbey Sportsmans range for a shoot on 26 February. All three of my sons should be home at that time and nothing is better than time on the range with your kids. The oldest is rotatin gback to Ft Lewis from Germany, and the youngest will be back from Army boot camp. Since we had a great time up here last Sunday for the M4 shoot, I would like to extend an invitation to all members of the PNW training group to come shoot with us again.
The date is not set in stone yet and doesn't need to be locked down until 30 days prior the shoot, so if anyone has another date they would like let me know and I'll see what I can do. The date is also subject to change according to military leave scheduling. As we get closer the date will firm up. My plan for now will be sight in and pistol drill in the morning and IDPA style moving stages after lunch. Let me know if you would like to participate
Steel targets and AP ammo
GlockWRX,
You won't have to worry about your steel target getting shot up at the shoot. One reason is the club has banned the use of steel core or steel jacketed ammo. Second reason is we don't allow outside steel targets. I haved a couple of the barricades made up from the plans you sent to me, and we now have a door in a frame to use as a prop also.
Peter Panzer,
200 rounds for the handgun and 400 for carbine will be more than enough. We mainly use IDPA style targets along with speciality targets for certain drills, like dot torture. Feel free to bring any cardboard or paper targets you want.
Steel jacketed ammo update
Good news for us. I just got back from the club meeting and I found out the the steel core or jacket ammo that was banned is for pistols and shotguns only. Since there aren't any rifle rated steel targets for us to use steel jacket rifle ammo is approved for use. Sorry Jason your steel target didn't get the OK for the meet in Feb.
