Any Reason to Choose Glock 17 over 34?
I currently have a Gen 2 G19 and Gen 3 G17. Generally, the 17 (w/light) is my HD/travel pistol and my G19 is my carry pistol.
Does the G17 have any advantage over the G34 other than being .8" shorter and an ounce lighter? I feel the 17 and 19 are so close together that having both does not make a lot of sense, but I like having the light on a longer pistol. I think I would enjoy the 34 at the range.
If I replace it, the G17 will be passed to one of my sons. Ironically, my current G17 is a replacement for the G17 I gave to another son.
Thanks
Andy

Check out how the G34 “feels” in your hands. The bit longer slide of the G34 might “feel” a bit less balanced. You might love it.
Another choice I would check is the G47, if you want to replace your G17 with one that gives you a few options.

I really wanted a 34 recently but sold it after shooting just over 150 rounds. It had more of a push recoil that just felt weird. I want that 47 now though, several others have said that it feels similar but softer than my 19 and 45.
