Hey there,
I got an email from Capitol Armory about their direct to your door can process ( newly available in WA state). Inventory and prices are compelling and better than local (Sandman k was 150 bucks less than at retail here). They send you a fingerprint kit and you complete a profile and they e-file it). Anyone have experience using this? Especially compared to Silencer shop.

I've been wanting to do another F1 can, but the retarded bureaucracy is the road block for me as a productive citizen who works full time.
I am in TX with them (about 3 hours north) and I used the program back when it was TX only.
Simple and straight forward, they were on the ball with getting paperwork done (I think I did 4 cans on the order). One had something happen, I dont recall what, but it was a simple phone call to get instructions and a day later it was all handled.
Capital is known around here (and nationally) as great to deal with with awesome service. I dont know if it is still the case, but they are/were the biggest NFA dealer in the country, and they have great prices to go with that.
I buy most of my stuff via SilencerShop because of the single shot trust and kiosk simplicity, but zero hesitation with CA.
Thanks. I'm a silcencer shop guy too, but this convenience and inventory and price make it appealing.
Honestly the help getting through the bureaucratic ATF fukkery is more important than the can selection to me.

I have used Capital Armory for years. Very solid and knowledgeable people.
All 13 of my cans have come from them.
I'm in Georgia and just completed the process today with Capitol Armory. I also completed the process today for another suppressor from a local shop. It will be interesting to see how they compare and how long the Capitol Armory suppressor will take to get to my door after approval. Capitol Armory's process was very straightforward and the guy I worked with on the e-form session was professional and knowledgeable.
I have no experience with CA personally, but by reputation they seem GTG. The only caveat would be that they take an additional month to ship your can to you after being approved by the ATF.
It did take a bit longer but I don’t think it was a month. They have a waiting period after notifying the local CLEO IIRC, maybe 5-10 days. It probably wasn’t the fastest but was definitely the easiest, especially if your SOT only has one guy that does NFA stuff and you have to catch him on the right day (my first can).

In NC, the FFL partner for Capitol Armory is already a solid guy. I haven’t ordered from Capitol, as I am $$ driven and have found deals that balanced out better going with other vendors. But I wouldn’t hesitate, and I love the “direct to door” idea.
I like to make conjugal visits to my cans while they are in jail so the CA option holds no interest to me. Plus, some folks have had up to a month delay waiting for CLEO notification post stamp approval. That would annoy me. However, if I didn't have the option to make conjugal visits I would consider them for sure.

The purpose of the process and tax isn't revenue; it's to be a deterrent. Even the ATF readily admits that the original $200 tax was onerous, and the equivalent of about $4,500 in today's dollars. How many NFA items would be sold today if the tax stamp was $4,500?Quote:

I received an email today from Capital Armory that the Form 4 was approved. I also received an email from the ATF. My other suppressor that was submitted on the same day (01-10-24) was approved yesterday, so the approval time for both was within a day. Now to see how long it takes the suppressor to get to my door.
Well, things didn't work out as they were supposed to. The Resilient RS9 suppressor was supposed to be on its way to me, but I received an email from Capitol Armory telling me that the Form 4 was disapproved due to an issue with the serial number. Apparently, the ATF approved Resilient's serial numbers, but later decided that they could not be used. They informed Resilient that all of the suppressors in the impacted range had to be destroyed. :fie: The odd thing is that the ATF never emailed me a notice that the suppressor was disapproved. To their credit, Capitol Armory was on top of it. They promptly had me go through the Form 4 process for another RS9 that has a serial number that's higher than the impacted range. Meanwhile, Resilient offered anyone impacted the opportunity to place one order for as many suppressors as they want at 50% off of MSRP. I don't at all blame Resilient or Capitol Armory for the minor inconvenience of having to fill out another Form 4 and wait for another approval, but I'm certainly willing to buy suppressors at half off! I emailed Resilient and was promptly sent a coupon code for 50% off. I bought two Putnik suppressors (for AK's) and one Jolene (for up to 30cal rifles). Though I placed the order on Resilient's website, Capitol Armory is actually handling the transfers. I just had to select them at checkout. A few days ago I went through the process of filling out the Form 4's online with a Capitol Armory representative. Today I received an email from the ATF that the replacement RS9 is approved. At this point I obviously don't have the four suppressors yet, but I can say that Capitol Armory definitely has their act together and operates like a well-oiled machine. For their part, Resilient is more than fair to its customers. I'll keep y'all updated.
They only gave you half the story. The reason why the ATF denied the serial number run was because they were duplicate numbers that Resilient had already used on other models of cans. Good they are taking care of you, and I dislike the ATF as much as the next guy, but this one was on them from what I can tell. It's very un DeadAir of them :DQuote:

Actually, nuts is the months and year long waits that we've been suffering through for years. This proves that the background check requirements can be completed in a day with current technologies. Anything beyond this is just them extending the time to deny us our 2nd Amendment rights.

The Resilient RS9 suppressor was delivered to my door yesterday and I got an email that the other suppressors that I ordered have shipped.
Silencer Central and Capitol Armory have taken 15-20 days after Form 4 approval to have the suppressors shipped to your door. It involves using registered mail to send the CLEO notification. They need to know the CLEO received the notification and to give them 7 days to respond.
If you order from Silencer Shop to have the suppressor shipped to your LGS, the Form 3 can take 15-20+ days to process but once you receive the Form 4 approval you can just go pick it up from the LGS. Or if you buy a suppressor from your LGS that is in the SS network, you don't need to wait for the Form 3.
My most recent purchase (AAC Ranger 5) was ordered on a Sunday and approved on Thursday that week. I couldn't pick it up until Saturday because of my work schedule, but otherwise would have been a total of 4 days from Form 4 certification to approval.
I haven't personally used Capitol Armory's direct-to-door process, but I've heard good things about it from a buddy who's into the scene. He said the prices and inventory are pretty solid, and the whole fingerprint kit thing sounded straightforward
