How to make a Kydex holster Picture Tutorial
Mostly trial and error with a tough hand.
The hardest part for me is keeping the kydex taught over the firearm while getting the press in place. Many times id open the press to find a huge spine over the barrel. Other times id fine the top layer totally out of line with the bottom layer.
The kydex sheets i used were cut much bigger then needed to allow for error. I find mose errors are made near the edges. As you can see here i covered almost the whole firearm.

Another benefit i have are very slim gloves that handle the heat very well while not being cumbersome. This allowed me to basically pinch my hand in the press while holding the kydex wrapped around the gun untill its fully closed.
My press is two seperate pieces of wood. I feel a book press would work best for these allowing you to shove the kydex and firearm tightly into the fixed corner.

I use .080. The .060 i use looks alot cooler with higher definition but i like the added strength of .080. I never had luck with .093 or else id use that.

Look at old faithful holsters, they have clearance leather for $5. As they describe it, it is a good deal. They also sell a hardware kit too match. I bought one of their kits before getting into the kydex forming. It makes an awesome one that you can adjust to retain retention as the leather wears in. Worth a look.
