$200 Check Question
I have a NFA trust and would like to pay for the $200 tax stamp out of my personal checking account. Problem is, my old (out of state) address is on the check.
Any idea if ATF will accept a check with the old address marked out and the new address written in?

Re: $200 Check Question
I wouldn't cross out the old address....and don't think they will care. They just want the $200.
Another option is to use a Money Order or Cashiers Check made out from the Trust

ATF will not even see the check. Bank of America gets the check in Atlanta and cashes it for the ATF. Send it and don't worry about it. All they care about is that they get their money...

...and don't worry, ATF will have plenty of time to make sure it clears.

$200 Check Question
Thanks everyone, I appreciate the advice.

The check I wrote was from my old address, but it was not a different state if that helps any. They cashed it no problems.

Same here. I didn't even think twice about the old address and it was cashed no problem.

$200 Check Question
same deal here, wasn't a different state, but it was 3 addresses back and i haven't lived there in > 8 years. Still have checks and they still work, so it was cashed and is going through just fine (as far as i know)

Thanks guys, that makes me feel better. I'll visit my FFL tomorrow and start my 6+ month wait.

$200 Check Question
Yes. They will. I've done it 4 times over a period of 2 plus years.
