    Another award for Colt...

Doesn't indicate these are FMS guns, so presumably for US use. I thought that the M4A1 had completely replaced the M4 in production?:

"Colt's Manufacturing Co. LLC, West Hartford, Connecticut, was awarded a $57,216,428 modification (P00004) to contract W15QKN-19-D-0116 for production for the M4 and M4A1 carbines. Work locations and funding will be determined with each order, with an estimated completion date of Sept. 18, 2024. Army Contracting Command, Newark, New Jersey, is the contracting activity. (Awarded May 16, 2024)"

Interesting. More M4/M4A1's when the new M7 uber-rifle is being fielded? Yeah I know it's only for certain MOS's but still.....

I have to laugh at the cost of the contracts that are shown in that link. Hundreds of millions is apparently chump change when 2024 talk is in billions.

Millions is what the D's spend on the military...Billions is what the D's give away to the enemies of our military.

That’s a strange mod to cut to a D type contract. A four month extension to the ordering period is odd. We didn’t actually order more M4’s under that mod. They just gave themselves the ability to order more M4’s for four more months.

I bet it is a -8 extension because the replacement contract isn’t ready to go. It was a FY19 award so it should expire this year.
