Middle ground political compromise? Trump's position is both consistent with the Supreme Court's decision, including the three justices Trump nominated that made the decision possible, and consistent with what pro-lifers have been asking for the past half century. Where others before him talked big but failed pro-lifers, Trump delivered.

Pence- Putting aside Jan 6, Pence served his purpose as VP. That said, Pence got schooled during his failed bid for the GOP presidential nomination on how irrelevant he is on the national stage without Trump. Pence should be thanking Trump instead of acting like a petulant child lashing out at Santa for not delivering every present on his anti-abortion wish list as a dictate from Washington. Mr Pence, go lobby individual states if you wish. You now have the opportunity to do so thanks to Trump.

What will Florida do in regard to curbs on abortion? Just like all other states, during a Trump administration it will be left to voters and and their elected state representatives to decide. That said, I would not be surprised if Trump pushed for some type of federal protections where rape, incest and imminent threat to the mother's life is a factor. He specifically mentioned those three. I believe Trump sees those circumstances as a role for federal protections from anti-abortion zealots who would otherwise force a woman by law to carry a rapist's child in her womb against her will. Pro-life advocates claim those conditions are exceeding rare. So... good policy and smart politics in that respect.

Vivek seems to have dropped off the radar lately. I was wondering where he'd gone to.

Who would have guessed such hysteria from the party of 'democracy' and 'will of the people'?

Yes. Both just hate a states' rights guy.

Trump seems to be reading the room and attempting some middle ground, which may make enough people happy to vote for him, while obviously making those on the extremes of left/right not happy with him.
I agree about looking for middle ground; however, it is a very reasonable conservative opinion: give it to the states, let the voters decide. It should not be a federal opinion. I also agree that if will make bother extremes unhappy. That's the definition of compromise, right? When everyone is unhappy with the outcome.

After failing to attract a candidate and on the heels of Joe Lieberman passing, the so-called No Labels party officially called it quits.

In related third party stuff... a supposed RFK campaign official, Rita Palma, is pleading with Trump supporters to help RFK get on the ballot in New York by arguing that RFK will help Trump defeat Joe Biden if he’s on the ballot.

    -----

Rita Palma, who has identified herself as the Kennedy campaign’s state director in New York, has repeatedly made the case, including in a meeting with Empire State Republicans, that efforts to put Kennedy on the ballot in New York will help “get rid of Biden,” which she called her “No. 1 priority,” and make it easier for Trump to win the historically Democratic state.

“The only way that Trump can even, remote possibility of taking New York is if Bobby is on the ballot. If it’s Trump vs. Biden, Biden wins. Biden wins six days, seven days a week. With Bobby in the mix, anything can happen,” Palma said in a video of the meeting with Republicans in New York viewed by CNN.

“The only way for him, for Bobby, to shake it up and to get rid of Biden is if he’s on the ballot in every state, including New York,” she continued.

    And now...

    RFK fires dear Rita... LOL!

RFK Jr. New York campaign staff member Rita Palma has been fired

    excerpts:

Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s campaign manager said on Wednesday that New York campaign staff member Rita Palma was fired after she told GOP voters in a meeting last week that preventing President Joe Biden’s victory was her “number one priority” and encouraged them to volunteer for former President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

Palma confirmed to CNN on Wednesday she is no longer employed by the campaign. She told CNN she believes Kennedy is “still by far the best candidate” and called the focus on her comments a “distraction.”

“I dealt with the campaign honestly,” Palma said. “I have nothing to defend. Truth defends itself.”
